FAQ

1.How do I set up my wireless internet?
After installing a wireless driver, please follow the steps of the manual, and set SSID to “ANY”

    1. Close proxy
    2. Log on http://netflow_web.uch.edu.tw, and register your ID.
    3. If you are an instructor, wireless is available 10-30minutes after registration.
    4. If you are a student, take your laptop to the computer center 3 days after registration.

    2.Can I access the school FTP at home? 
    Authorized software for campus, namely, is accessible only on campus. Thus, FTP is not open to those outside of school. Nevertheless, some authorized software has fixed user quota and ID. Please refer to the website of the computer center. For more information, please call 3850. Can I access the school FTP at home? 


    3.If the internet at the dorm breaks down, how do I solve it?
    Please log in “School Info” on the homepage, and click in “School Internet and Registration.” After that, check “Dormitory Internet Flow Notice and Warning Notice” and check “Open Hours.” For more information, please call 3831.

    4.Are computer classrooms open to students? If so, which ones are available and what are the opening hours?
    Available classrooms will vary with the course schedule each school term. For the information about open hours and accessible computer rooms, please check the announcement on the homepage.

    5.If I want to install the school’s authorized software, how can I have a code for registration?
    The school authorized software has a built-in code, which can avoid circulating order numbers to other areas. If order numbers are needed when you install software, please find out the SN or sn.txt in the CD. If you fail, please call 3850.

    6.Who can use an instructor's internet account for a personal website?
    The instructor website is only open to the instructor and relevant students’ projects; it is not available to standing administrative or department websites.

    7.Some personal mail is blocked by the system that takes the mail as spam. So, how can I receive the blocked mail?
    Open the Prevention Notice. Move your cursor to the blocked mail, and click "Recycle" icon on the right column. After that, you can receive your desired mail

    8.How do I download the authorized antivirus software from the school computer center and install it on my personal computer?
    Connect to the school FTP. Download the authorized antivirus and install it on your personal computer

    9.I forget my e-mail password, so I cannot log into the system. How do I change the password?
    Go to Homepage/Administrative Unit/Computer Center/Service/Service Content/ Application for Changing E-mail Password. Fill out the form and take it to the computer center. Or you may go to the computer center directly and fill out an application form.

    10.When I click "Send Leave Request" why does it show "Error: Zero Hour"?
    When you send a leave request, be sure that "classification", "begin/end time and date", and “total hours” are not blank.

    11.How do I revise a rejected leave request?
    Check "Personal Leave Request" and find the rejected mail. Click it out, and you can revise and resend it.

    12.When I key in the date to check my entrance record; why is there is no complete record?
    If you cannot see the whole entrance record, the personnel office still hasn’t uploaded the data to the system. When the office uploads it, you can see your whole entrance record.

    13.When I cannot open the attached official documents, what should I do?
    Please right click your mouse for "Save as" and download the file to your computer.

    14.When I am in the official document system, I can see all the documents but cannot read or write on them. Why?
    Please change to a correct ID

    15. Can I use Outlook or Outlook Express at school?
    Only personnel can use them. Only some students are allowed to receive, not send, mail via Outlook Express.
