INTRODUCTION

The Department of Marketing and Distribution Management at Chien Hsin University of Science and Technology was established in 2001. The department provides a bachelor degree for people who are interested in Marketing and Distribution Management. The department focuses on how to train students in theory learning and practical skills training. These techniques are decided according to the trend of industrial requirements and future technological development. We wish to train students in three areas: Marketing Management, Retail Store Management, and Distribution Management. Our students will become experts in these areas.

The Marketing field is designed to teach students comprehensive and updated knowledge in marketing so that they are able to work in the marketing-related units in different industries. Our program covers a variety of aspects in marketing such as sales, advertising, promotion, retail management, marketing research, pricing, physical distribution, new product introduction, branding, international business, and e-commerce. By absorbing a comprehensive content and attending short seminars in practical marketing operations, students will develop a clear understanding about marketing and find connections between marketing theories and practices.

The Retail Store and Distribution Management field at our department adheres to the spirit that theory and practice work concurrently. Therefore we work to plan strategies for the management field in logistics, to teach professional managerial knowledge, to cooperate with innovating and practical research that leads, to build a learning environment integrated with practice, and to emphasize English proficiency at the same time, which will make the students of this department possess an international specialty according to industrial demands.
