our visions

The educational goal of the department is to train professional electrical engineers that are capable of performing analysis, development, manufacturing, and maintenance in the fields of power, control, computer, communication, and electronics. In addition to the traditional courses in power and control fields, 3C (Computer, Communication, and Consumer electronics) courses are developed to enhance students' professional knowledge and skills to fit in the market requirement.

(A) Department of Electrical Engineering
The undergraduate major program aims to incorporate specialized course of study involving human culture, international character and information technology with the Electrical Engineering curriculum in order to cultivate first-class science and technology graduates.

  1. Specialization- the Department intends to introduce students to not only the basic skills required by their major but professional training theory and practice as well. The system incorporates the spirit-based curriculum planning, while adding studies involving industrial needs and development areas such as: Trend Micro planning, power, control, computer communications and electronics to further their professional and academic journey.
  2. Human Culture-Education at the university level involves not only imparting subject knowledge, but also the development of a holistic approach to learning that includes humanities education. Participation in the General Education Department policy formulated by the University Education Center will help encourage a student’s macro perspective and development of healthy personalities. A mentor system is also put in place to ensure that students improve their ethical behavior and succeed outside of the classroom as well.
  3. International character- Our program works hard to build and maintain close relationships with foreign institutions in order to promote collaborative learning opportunities and exchange programs. The Department plans overseas study tours and learning activities in Moscow, Russia. We work closely with our language center to prepare our students for exchange programs at our sister universities in the United States that include Appalachian State University and Colorado State University. 3+2 courses of study can be completed abroad as well as completing requirements for the official TOEFL examination. In addition, we also receive students from nations such as The Gambia and Malaysia to increase our efforts to build a multi-national campus environment in-line with the ever expanding international working environment.
  4. Information technology- Information technology has become an ever increasing component of business operations and with that the need to educate students in this subject cannot be stressed. A complete computer network has been created with educational tools and computer labs that facilitate IT functions and learning. Students and teachers are encouraged to utilize the network to establish class and teaching websites, online tutoring and e-mail counseling.

(B) Research Institute of Electrical Engineering
The Research Institute of Electrical Engineering was created for the main purpose of training senior engineering and technical personnel to actively cultivate knowledge in areas such as power, control, systems design, communications, electronics and related research and analysis in those fields. Future research will focus on the characteristics inherent in the system’s three dimensions of: green energy and fuel cell electric vehicle drive technologies, intelligent control technology, 3C integration technology and communication on the allocation of energy resources.

  1. Green energy technology, fuel cell applications and electric vehicle drive technology
We are actively developing clean and green energy technologies, such as solar cell manufacturing, converter design, battery research, solar energy power generation applications, and wind power applications. In addition to helping reduce environmental pollution and public nuisance, it can also adapt to the new energy revolution and to further integrate Taiwan's superior manufacturing technology, which has brought Taiwan lucrative business opportunities.
  2. Intelligent Control
of the main characteristics of industrial restructuring in Taiwanese manufacturing helps comply with the burgeoning knowledge economy, the production of high value-added products or control technology, aimed at the development of embedded systems based high-tech control technology, fuzzy, neural, chaos, expert systems, intelligent control technology and other automated equipment or precision products.
  3. 3C technology applications
3C technology applications in embedded systems, communication systems and flat panel display technology for the use in the development of character features and communication technologies combined with energy resources. This nexus will allow students the opportunity to design embedded system design applications, system architecture and implementation of the smart home environment, all the while training students in satellite communications, research and development in LCD technology and video processing.
