introduction

The Electrical Engineering Department, which underwent restructuring in 1999, was established in 1966. In 2003, a Master of Science degree program was established. The department aims to establish an environment that actively cultivates understanding in the areas of design controls, computers, communications, electronics, power and related topics while focusing on data analysis, testing, operation and management of systems to benefit not only students, but technical personnel and senior professionals.

Inclusive of traditional students, both undergraduate and graduate, night school and technical trainees, the department numbers more than one thousand pupils in size. Our school is located in Chungli, which is the manufacturing and service industry backbone extending between Taipei and Hsinchu. Our university in Taoyuan County provides a robust and enabling environment that fosters professional, technical and vocational training to increase the knowledge of our community’s workforce.

We are always striving for academic excellence and continues to build on the belief and confidence held in our faculty. Constant industry and educational system changes have provided us obstacles to overcome in our quest to remain ahead of the curve in today’s world and in order to do this, we actively update our lesson plans, upgrade our equipment and expand our research capacity to maintain a quality learning environment.

The development features of the department :

  1. The use of power, control and 3C technology, the research and development of carbon reducing green energy technologies, fuel cell applications, intelligent control and embedded system applications of satellite communication receiver technology, and basic training of technical personnel.
  2. Establishment of solar photovoltaic power generation system design and installation practices, satellite communications and receiving field training as well as training students in practical technical skills.
  3. Founded for instructional knowledge in the fields of power electronics, mechanical and electrical integration, and computer hardware in order to prepare for CLA certification by the testing laboratory qualifications of the Class B and C licenses, and planning relevant license courses to help students obtain a license in order to have a competitive edge in the employment market.
