DORMITORY REGULATIONS

I.These regulations are made with consideration for the boarders' living quality. They pays respect to a healthy and peaceful lifestyle in the hopes that boarders  are enabled to pay full attention to their studies.

II.Room Allotting:
To help newcomers get used to their surroundings, rooms are reserved for them. Non-freshmen may have the remainder of the rooms.

III.Moving into the dorm:

  1. The boarding duration starts 3 days prior to the registration date to 3 days after the final exam. (For more information, please refer to the bulletin board)
  2. When moving in, boarders must take possession of a key with a student ID, receipt, or a certificate from the Living Assistance Section.
  3. When boarders move into the dorm, the room leader must check each and every item in the room, and report to the dormitory manager about any damaged item.When boarders are checking out, the dorm manager must designate each floor head to check the facilities. At the end of the school year the boarders must leave the dorm, and the manager will check with the boarder anyr personal equipment. If any item is ruined, the boarder with this damaged item will be fined and the cost will be deducted from the boarder's deposit. The boarder may repair the item without being fined.

VI. Moving Out :

  1. A boarder must leave the dorm when one of the following conditions occurs:
    1. Graduation, suspension, dropping out, transferring to another school
    2. The end of the school year
    3. Being forced to leave
    4. Leave with reasons and be ratified accordingly
    5. Those with infectious diseases
    6. Those with chronic illness or those who disturb other boarders and who do not improve their behavior.
  2. The leaving boarders need abide by the following process:
    1.  Those with leaving application form have to cooperate with the dormitory manager.
    2. For the approved boarders, below are the regulations governing refund:
    3. Those staying at the dorm with the duration within 1/3 of the school year can be refunded 2/3 of the boarding fee.
    4. Those staying at the dorm with the 1/3-2/3 duration of the school year can be refunded 1/3 of the boarding fee.
    5. Those staying at the dorm with the duration beyond 2/3 of the school year cannot ask for a refund.
    6. The boarding date is the first date of the school year.
  3. If a boarder does any damage to the public facilities, the boarder must compensate for the damage. After that, the boarder can apply for the refund of boarding fee and the deposit.
  4. Graduating students must leave their dorm five days after the graduation ceremony. Graduating students returning for another school year may check out of their dorms by the regular stipulated date.
  5. Those with the following situations will not be refunded when leaving:
    1. Being forced to leave
    2. Those who apply to check out during the school year.

VII.General Regulation

  1. To ensure boarders have the use of public facilities, a boarder needs to pay the deposit on check-in day. The deposit will be used against personal damage to public equipment and will be returned without interests when a boarder graduates, transfers to another school, or discontinues lodging. A repair fee will be taken out of a boarder’s deposit if a boarder violates public facilities.
  2. To determine existing boarders’ success in applying for a lodging extension, the school will publicly draw lots and announce the results on its bulletin board. Those successful candidates must pay the deposit; the candidates must wait for the vacancy, and pay the reposit when permitted. 
  3. To conserve electricity, the basic electric unit for each person each month is 50, and the fee beyond each person’s monthly fee will be deducted from the deposit.
  4. To ensure the boarder has enough sleeping, the internet is open 5am-1am of next day.
  5. Every one should take care of their personal belongings. One should not claim for compensation from the school if anything is lost.
  6. The general administration will notify the student office and the dormitory manager of its entrance into a room for repair, maintenance, or construction.
  7. The student office has the right to designate other agents to inspect the security and cleanliness of the dorm.
  8. To enhance the living quality, the boarder association can make a life convention, by which all boarders should abide and which cannot contradict school regulations. The violator will be punished.

VIII Parking Lot at the Dormitory

  1. The boarder has the  right to apply for a parking space, once a school term.
  2. The parking permit has a school logo on it and needs to be attached to the vehicle. If the number of applicants exceeds spaces available, then lots will be drawn.
  3. A driver should comply with the parking rules and follow the security officers’ orders. If a driver damages others’ vehicles or public equipment, the driver should pay compensation
  4. The dormitory manager has the right to maintain the order and security of the parking lot.
  5. Visitors must register at the managing booth and park their vehicle according to the rules.
  6. Parking permits can not be transferred, pirated, or untruthfully reported lost. If a student violates this rule, the school may revoke the parking permit and take disciplinary action against the violator according to the circumstances.
  7. Parking against the rule. (No parking permit, blocking the traffic flow, parking in the “No-parking” zone). The manager has the right to lock up the violator’s vehicle and record the transgression. If the violator has a bad attitude or does not obey the admonition, the school may take disciplinary action against the violator according to the circumstances.
  8. Non-boarders cannot park at the dorm parking lot. If the violator refuses to heed a warning, the school may take disciplinary action against the violator according to the circumstances.

X.Other Life Regulations

  1. The regulations of the dorm are valid unless they contradict the official law
  2. The entrance time limit is 12am to 5:30am. No boarder may leave the dorm unless permission has been given
  3. The room and corridor should be kept clean and tidy. The room leader should take of this.
  4. No slippers or casual wear are allowed at the entrance of the dorm.
  5. Common Room Hours: 07:00-23:00
  6. No shouting, laughing, playing music loudly. Respect others.
  7. When the boarder leaves the dorm for the summer/winter vacation begins, no boarder may leave until the dorm is clean and checked by the room leader’s supervision. The violator and his/her room leader will be punished.
  8. All boarders should obey the security regulations.
  9. Visitors may only wait at the designated room
  10. A boarder must sleep at the designated space.
  11. If one wants to sleep outside of the dorm, he/she must ask for leave in advance. For the violator, the school may take disciplinary action against the violator according to the circumstances.
  12. When in the dorm, the boarder must take care of the allotted public properties. These should be checked by the room leader when the boarder asks for leave.
  13. No smoking or chewing betel nut in the dorm.
  14. No hanging around the other gender’s dorm or accommodating a guest for the night.
  15. No pets
  16. No private outlets, electric stoves, rice cookers, or electrical spoons are permitted.. Prohibited and restricted goods will be confiscated. A violator who breaks this rule will be forced to leave the dorm immediately and the school may take disciplinary action against the violator. (If a fire occurs, the violator’s parents must compensate for the damage and the violator must take full criminal responsibility)
  17. No cooking, burning, or setting off of fireworks.
  18. No Mah-jong, gambling, alcohol abuse, climbing the wall
  19. No vandalism.
  20. No restricted or prohibited goods
  21. No gathering of guests or non-ratified commercial actions
  22. No pilferage (the school may expel the violator according to the circumstances)
